Business & Technology Committee

Economic vitality is at the core of any community. Without good jobs and healthy businesses, Portland and Oregon cannot achieve the lofty goals they have set for themselves. Healthy cities, healthy forests, healthy farms, and clean water and air cannot be maintained for long in an environment of financial unease.

Realizing that small business is an unrecognized economic champion, the Business and Technology Committee is focusing on small business and jobs and how they can be grown and preserved. We are studying the place of small business in the economy, its role in providing jobs, and the relationship between economic security and sustainability.
