Join an intimate dinner and discussion with Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, president of Sports Management Worldwide and a longtime leader in efforts to bring Major League Baseball to Portland. Dr. Lashbrook spearheaded the Oregon Stadium Campaign, a private entity that led lobbying efforts to try to relocate the Montreal Expos to Portland in 2003-04.
The evening's discussion will focus on what it would take to attract and sustain a Major League Baseball team in Portland, how a Major League Baseball team would complement (or compete with) Portland’s existing NBA and MLS teams, and whether efforts to attract single-A baseball teams to Hillsboro and Milwaukie may help or hinder Portland’s prospects for securing a Major League team.
