State of the State - SOLD OUT
In 2010, as he stepped into his unprecedented third term as Oregon’s Governor, John Kitzhaber quickly set in motion plans to transform state delivery of education and health care, while promising economic growth and job creation.
On January 13, Governor John Kitzhaber will deliver his State of the State address. He will detail the progress of the “zero to twenty” educational initiatives, and will describe their potential impact. He will explain how the healthcare transformation bill, passed by the Legislature this past summer, will affect Oregonians and how these changes will be implemented over the coming months. Finally, Kitzhaber will address the state’s economic recovery and steps the government is taking to stimulate job growth.
John Kitzhaber served in the Oregon House of Representatives and the Oregon Senate before being elected Governor in 1994 and 1998. Before beginning his current term as Governor in 2010, Kitzhaber founded the healthcare reform organization the Archimedes Movement, now called We Can Do Better.
