The Attorney General heads the Oregon Department of Justice and is the state’s chief legal officer. The Attorney General’s docket includes fighting crime, protecting Oregon consumers, defending civil rights and holding polluters responsible for the damage they cause to our environment.
On June 26, City Club welcomes Oregon Attorney General John Kroger. Now six months into his term, Kroger will offer a progress report on what he has accomplished, what he has learned and how he hopes to reshape the role of Attorney General in Oregon.
John Kroger has served as a United States Marine, public policy advisor, federal criminal prosecutor and teacher. During his time as a federal prosecutor, Kroger helped prosecute Enron executives and served on the emergency response team to the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Kroger wrote about his experiences as a prosecutor in his book Convictions, published in 2008.
