What We Do

This summer, City Club, PSU and other partner organizations invite you to join us for a youth and civic engagement summit.

When: Friday, June 1st. 9:00am to 3:30pm

Where: Portland State University

Who: City Club of Portland and PSU with partnering organizations

What: The summit will highlight the current state of civic participation by young people in the Portland metro region, while providing opportunities for a diverse group of students, educators and community leaders to explore strategies for enhancing youth engagement.

The summit will:
1. Provide all participants with a deeper awareness of the current state of civic engagement among Portland's youth and the potential long-term consequences of this situation.
2. Inspire local institutions to develop innovative strategies to engage young people in Portland's civic life.
3. Motivate the youth participating in the Summit to be part of the civic fabric of Portland.

The target audience:
1. Youth (16 to 25 years of age) who are already engaged and are interested in reaching out to other young people not yet engaged
2. Community leaders and the wider public who are interested in expanding youth engagement in the city
