About the Event

Welcome Events are casual, members-only gatherings hosted by City Club’s Membership Committee. You’ll mingle with fellow members and Club leaders, hear the latest Club news, and learn how to plug into a committee or project that speaks to you. Each evening includes a short presentation followed by group discussion — September’s topic is “How City Club Research Has Made a Difference,” presented by Ted Kaye, City Club’s unofficial historian.

For more than a century, City Club’s member-led research has shaped local policy, culture, and quality of life across our region — with no shortage of surprise, success, and even a little scandal along the way. Come hear the stories straight from someone who knows the history best. Research has always been one of the ways members make their mark, and you’ll hear even more ways to get involved in City Club’s rich array of activities.

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of good company, great conversation, and even better ideas. With so many new members joining us this year, City Club’s future is brighter than ever — and we can’t wait for you to be part of it.

Can’t make it this time? No worries. Welcome Events happen about four times a year at locations across the metro area, so there’s always another chance to connect. We encourage every member to attend as many as you can!

Thank You!
