About the Event

Are you looking for your civic home in Portland? Come grab a drink, learn something new, and connect with a network of young leaders engaged in local issues.

City Club’s New Leaders Council hosts a monthly happy hour for people in their 20s to 40s who want to get more involved in civic life. Whether you’re a seasoned activist, advocate, or organizer, or someone looking to get involved for the first time, these gatherings offer opportunities to hear different perspectives, meet new people, make new connections, and learn something new that supports your leadership development.

Walking into a room full of strangers can feel daunting, so NLC events combine informal mingling with a facilitated activity, conversation, Q&A, or presentation to help attendees break the ice with folks they haven’t met yet. They are part program, part social, and all fun.

We’ll begin with informal mingling from 6:00 to 6:30 pm, followed by a facilitated activity starting at 6:30 pm. This month, we’ll have a group conversation about how to better fund schools and education programs.

Drinks and snacks will be provided, so please RSVP to help us plan.
