Be Part of Portland’s Civic Future

City Club of Portland is a nonpartisan, member-led organization where people come together to learn, engage, and help shape the future of our region.

At a time of significant change for Portland, thoughtful civic participation matters more than ever. Through public programs, independent research, and community conversations, City Club creates opportunities for people to better understand the issues facing our region and participate in meaningful civic life.

Everything City Club does is created, guided, and sustained by its members.

Why Become a Member?

City Club is more than a place to attend events. Membership is an opportunity to participate in one of Portland’s longest-standing traditions of civic engagement.

Whether your interests lie in public policy, research, community conversations, or simply staying informed, there are many ways to get involved.

Members can:

  • Attend programs featuring civic, community, and business leaders
  • Join research and issue committees
  • Help develop public programs and civic conversations
  • Vote for City Club leadership and governance
  • Volunteer for member-led initiatives
  • Connect with others who care about the future of our region

Whether you participate occasionally or become deeply involved, your membership helps strengthen civic dialogue, informed decision-making, and community connection across Portland.

What Makes City Club Different?

City Club is one of Portland’s few truly independent, nonpartisan civic organizations.

Unlike many organizations, City Club’s programs, research, and leadership are created entirely by members. Members don’t simply attend, they help shape the organization’s work and its impact on the community.

Public programs, research reports, newsletters, and educational resources are available to everyone because members choose to support them through their time, participation, and financial contributions.
