Join City Club’s New Leaders Council (NLC) on Thursday, January 22, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM (program starts at 5:30 PM) at Kickstand Comedy (1006 SE Hawthorne Blvd) for their monthly networking happy hour.
Registration Details
Registration isn’t required, but we’d appreciate it to help us plan for seating and staffing.
Cost: NLC events are free, but donations are appreciated. You may purchase the $15 suggested donation ticket or click here to add a donation of any amount to your free ticket order.
Why donate?
The NLC often partners with venues that provide shared space at no cost. However, these opportunities are limited, which restricts our ability to host events in different parts of the city. Your optional donations provide the flexibility to use private spaces that require food minimums or rental fees. This support is essential as our community grows, ensuring we can continue to bring civic education to various neighborhoods and keep our participants and venue partners comfortable.
About the Event
City Club’s New Leaders Council (NLC) hosts a monthly happy hour event to connect younger people interested in growing their leadership in civic life and learning more about ways to participate in local government and policy making. A typical event includes both a facilitated group activity or discussion, and independent time to meet each other and just relax and be in community.
This month’s event will feature a Q&A with guest leaders who are shaping our city and state policy, focusing on issues such as housing, transportation, and sustainable development. Featured guests are Portland City Councilors Angelita Morillo and Sameer Kanal, along with Cassie Wilson, Legislative Manager for 1000 Friends of Oregon.
While this event was created with people in their 20s to 40s in mind, anyone is welcome to attend.
