Join the Conversation
City Club programs bring together leaders from government, business, academia, and community organizations to inform the public about important issues from multiple viewpoints and encourage solutions-oriented conversations that continue beyond the program. Audience members help shape the conversation by submitting questions during registration and in live Q&A sessions at most programs. Most programs are held both in person and online.

City Club programs are member-led. Our Program Committee identifies topics and speakers that are most interesting to our members and community and that address issues the public will soon have a chance to weigh in on.

Election Programs
We provide a space where all major candidates and ballot measure campaigns can share their positions and answer questions from the community. Our goal is to give voters a chance to hear from candidates of different parties and perspectives so they can make informed decisions.
Panel Discussions
Panel discussion programs focus on solutions to the community’s most timely and pressing issues. Panelists explore challenges, share ideas, and guide the community in considering approaches it can support. These panels are designed to move the conversation toward practical solutions.
State of Series
Our State of Addresses give the community updates from key leaders about what’s happening now and what’s coming next for our city and state. These talks cover policies, programs, and priorities that affect the community. It’s a longstanding City Club tradition to host the State of the City with the Portland Mayor, the State of the County with the Multnomah County Chair, and the State of the Region with the Metro President.
