One Year In: Reflections from Portland’s First Multi-Member District Councilors

In early 2026, City Club organized a four-part interview series to check in with the Councilors just after they completed their first full year of service under the new form of government, elected a new Council President and Vice President, and began working with the first permanent City Administrator. Moderated by Sophie Peel of Willamette Week, these panels offer a candid look at the challenges, successes, and the road ahead for our city.

2025 State of the City with Portland Mayor Keith Wilson and JT Flowers

On May 2, Mayor Keith Wilson delivered his first State of the City address to a live audience of more than 200 people at Franklin High School. He then joined JT Flowers for a conversation about community leadership and the future of Portland. A link to the full video is included in the post.

Join FY 2025-26 City of Portland Budget Planning

The Budget Office is gathering community input before the City Administrator and Mayor present a unified proposed budget to City Council by May 5. Share your thoughts on what should be preserved and where cuts could be made before the final budget heads to council for work sessions and a vote in May–June. This is your chance to help shape the city’s priorities.

2025 Meet Your City Councilors Series

City Club recently hosted a four-program series, Meet Your New City Councilors! The free in-person events were held at venues within each district and featured moderated conversations, led by Sophie Peel, and informal social time with the Councilors. All programs were recorded and are available to watch online for free.

2024 Portland Mayoral Candidate Forum

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, City Club of Portland hosted a mayoral candidate forum at Sanctuary Hall that brought together over 450 voters in person, with an additional 500 tuning in online.
